In 2020, 21% of Ethiopia’s world exports and 6% of world imports were intra-Africa. Between 2019 and 2020, Ethiopia’s exports to Africa declined by 6%, and imports by 5%.

Ethiopia’s intra-Africa exports and imports amounted to US$529 million and US$841 million in 2020, respectively. Ethiopia’s main African trading partners include Somalia, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa and Djibouti, accounting for 83% of Ethiopia’s total intra-Africa trade.
