Applied Data Science for Trade

This five-day introductory data science course will provide participants with the complete picture of how to use cutting edge technology to acquire, clean, combine, aggregate, interrogate, analyse and predict using data.

The course will be focused on trade-related data, but data from other fields may be used for illustration.

The week will provide participants with an overview of how to use data science in an applied manner. Every student will apply what they learn in the morning lecture to a data science project under their control. At the end of the course, the students will be expected to write up their projects and produce a presentation.

Scripted coding experience in Python, R or other language is advantageous but not required. Students will be introduced to the two most popular scripting languages for data science applications - R and Python.
