Tunisia: 2019 intra-Africa trade and tariff profile
10 per cent of total intra-Africa trade is with African countries; mostly with countries which are members of the same FTAs as Tunisia – AGADIR, PAFTA and COMESA. 77 per cent of intra-Africa exports are to Libya, Algeria, Morocco and Egypt and 96 per cent of intra-Africa imports also sourced from these four countries. 20 per cent of intra-Africa exports and 2 per cent of intra-Africa imports are to and from African countries outside AGADIR, PAFTA and COMESA. Trade is mainly with west African countries which are members of ECOWAS and include exports of gypsum plasters, cement clinkers, electric conductors and trailers for the transportation of goods. Imports are mainly cocoa beans sourced from Ivory Coast and Ghana and frozen fish imported from Ghana and Senegal.
