As Africa moves towards implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, signed in Kigali, Rwanda in March 2018, tralac has prepared a series of individual country trade data analyses to provide an overview of intra-African trade relationships, both within the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and with other individual African countries; the top import and export products traded; and applicable tariffs.

Recognising the challenges to access of reliable and quality trade data for African countries, the analyses utilise the most recent data available via the UN International Trade Centre’s (ITC) TradeMap, the World Bank’s World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), and the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Tariff databases. Each profile is accompanied by a visual representation of key data and trends in an infographic.
