The Monitoring Regional Integration Yearbook reviews regional integration developments in Southern Africa. This Project is supported by the Trade Law Centre (tralac) and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Please note:

Submission of abstracts for inclusion in the 2017/18 Monitoring Regional Integration Yearbook are now closed.

Topics

This will be the 15th edition of the yearbook and will focus on regional integration developments since 2000. The following are some of the areas that could be the focus of papers:

  • Southern African Customs Union (SACU) developments
  • Politics, Governance, Peace and Security developments
  • External Relations and Regional Integration (e.g. SADC EPA, China, US)
  • SADC’s industrial development agenda
  • Infrastructure and infrastructure services: energy, transport, communications
  • Legal and Institutional Development for Regional Integration
  • Sustainable development agenda: climate change, environment, green economy, good governance
  • Tripartite Free Trade Area and Continental Free Trade Area developments

Time Line

The publication is expected to be launched in May/June 2018.
